Incredibly Deceptive Ad Using Obama Video to Sell Debt Consolidation
I just emailed the Secretary of the Commonwealth and NESN about an incedibly deceptive ad that NESN is airing, that incorporates a solid minute of President Obama discussing the financial crises, on a screen decorated with graphics to make the ad seem like it’s cable news, and imploring the pubic to call the unnamed company for debt relief.
It’s clear the intent of the ad is to trick viewers into thinking this is somehow endorsed or run by the government, even though the fine print swears it’s not. That disclaimer you can see in the ad is not on screen for the entire ad.
Deplorable. And that’s ignoring what I think of them trying to make a buck off of a) your financial predicament, b) the President of the United States. (I would have even been offended if Bush was still in office and they pulled this. Of course they wouldn’t have because they’re taking advantage of this President’s popularity)
It’s hard to believe anyone with standards was involved in the creation or airing of this ad.
